WHAT WE'RE ABOUT...

The Northwest Food Pantry is 1 of 11 A.C.C.E.S.S. pantries in Kent County.
We are a non-profit organization supported and sponsored by local churches, businesses, and individuals. Our goal is to assist Westside families (those within our NWFP boundaries)when they are faced with loss of income, or any other short-term emergency. The pantry collects donations of food and personal-needs items and distributes them to needy families.

TO RECEIVE FOOD

The Northwest Food Pantry is a welcoming and non-judgemental environment for people who are struggling to make ends meet.
HOW TO QUALIFY:
~ Families with low income ( usually 200% of poverty or less)
~ Need picture ID
~Need current proof of address -- also for everyone in the household.
(First time clients are asked to show ID. If they don't have it, they are served
anyway, but they will need information the next time.)
~ Live within the boundaries of the pantry.

The Northwest Food Pantry boundaries are:
Six Mile Rd. on the north
Fourth St. on the south
Kenowa Ave. on the west
The Grand River on the east

When an individual or family comes to the pantry, their need is accessed, and they are given 3 days of emergency food supplies. They may not return for more assistance for 30 days, except in extreme need.

TO VOLUNTEER

Supporting Congregations are largely the source of the volunteers at the Northwest Food Pantry.Faithful volunteers are a huge part of what makes the pantry able to accomplish all that it does. Caring people come together with the capable staff to show Christ's love to all the people that are served. There is an ongoing need for volunteers.
